PUBLIC NOTICE FOR 2040 METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN (MTP) AND 2018-2021 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (TIP) The KYOVA Interstate Planning Commission is notifying the public of the update of two important planning documents: the 2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) and the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for Fiscal Years 2018-2021. Comments on projects in the Draft 2040 MTP and the Draft 2018-2021 TIP will be accepted during a 30-day comment period from January 13, 2017 through February 13, 2017. The 2040 MTP and 2018-2021 TIP are used by KYOVA to plan and program highway, public transit, waterway, air, rail, bicycle, pedestrian, and other economic recovery projects within the KYOVA Planning Area which includes Cabell and Wayne counties, West Virginia; Boyd and Greenup counties, Kentucky; and Lawrence County, Ohio. The 2040 MTP is a long-term plan shaped by state and local agencies used to guide transportation in our region. The 2018-2021 TIP is the region's short-term program of projects scheduled to receive federal transportation funds over the next four years. KYOVA will follow the ODOT STIP development schedule.
